植株微被短柔毛，灰绿色或绿色。花萼大，长6-11毫米；花冠蓝紫色、紫色、稀白色，较大，长10-20毫米。
系名模式：宽瓣棘豆 Oxytropis platysema Schrenk
中国有5种，分布于西北和西南部。
